  • Visited this church specifically to consider attending regularly when in town. You can see the church well from I-74 but when exiting onto Pinecrest Dr. I was uncertain exactly where to go. Fortunately I turned right and in a couple blocks saw a temporary lawn sign pointing the way and traffic cones on the side street. This was for the 9 a.m. service. Parking lot was well staffed with people directing vehicles to parking spaces. I am a little leary of parking my motorcycle just anywhere, so I stopped at a guy directing vehicles and told him I had never been there before and wondered if they had a safe designated place for parking bikes. His response was that I could park in a regular parking space. O.K. No one initiated speaking to me at any time during my visit, even though I was visibly carrying a visitor's welcome bag. I asked an usher about adult Bible study offered on Sunday. He tried to find the information in the service bulletin but it was not there. He was a very nice and personable man but I had to ask the questions to find out a little about the church. I had seen the welcome desk in the lobby so I walked over and explained that I was new and wondered about Sunday adult Bible classes. The woman, again very pleasant, said she did not know but assured me the information was on the website. I had searched the site prior to coming and had not found anything. I tried again, using the church provided Wi-Fi, but once again to no avail. The welcome bag I received was filled with a variety of information including a 2 DVD set that contains two of the Senior Pastor's sermons. Some 2400+ attend the three worship services (one at 9 a.m., another at 11 a.m. and yet another later Sunday afternoon.) The sanctuary is large comfortable theater seating in semicircle with elevated floor so your view is unhindered. The Senior Pastor spoke but not from the "stage" but from below and in front of the first row of seats. My guess is that he feels this allows him to 'connect' with those present, but it hinders visibility for those unfortunate enough to sit next to a video camera location. In addition, during the 50 minute sermon he never crossed the center line to my half of the sanctuary. My only option was to watch him on one of the video screens. Plan to enjoy a service just shy of 2 hours. The Senior Pastor has a very good homiletical skill and gift. I couldn't help but feel that while examples were poignant and alive, and the Biblical text handled accurately, the message belabored points with too much redundancy. To get to the point, I felt the message could have been more effective or as effective and 15-20 minutes shorter. In all fairness, as a listener I was never bored, nor did I find my mind drifting, nor was I longing for it to be over. Application of the Word of God to lives was extremely practical and effective. My only wish as I was driving away was that someone, anyone, would have said "Hello," especially since I was carrying the very noticeable paper welcome bag with handles. I wondered if my experience would have been different if my wife had been with me. With police officers to direct traffic leaving the parking lot and reentry on to busy Pinecrest Dr. was quick and easy. I would recommend you give Harvest Bible Chapel a try.

  • Exceptional worship services and even better sermons. Very contemporary and large church that is very welcoming to all new visitors. I recommend coming in to check out a service sometime....i guarantee you'll come back.
